iPadOS 16 Supported iPads
So, iPadOS 16 is going to be coming out in about four to five months from now, and we can kind of have an idea of what the device list for this new version of the software could actually bring. As of right now, I can tell all of the iPads that are on iPadOS 15 could get iPadOS 16, except for two iPads, these iPads are the iPad Mini 4 and the iPad Air 2. So, these two iPads are probably going to be the only iPads that are not going to be supported for the next version of the software. Now, the main reason for this is because these iPads are pretty outdated, the chipset they have are fairly outdated as well, and I truly don’t see these iPads being supported with the next version of the software (in my opinion).
So, the iPads that are going to be supported for the next generation of the software include the iPad 6, iPad 7, iPad 8, and iPad 9, all of those iPads have a newer chipset than the chipsets within the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 4.I also believe that all of the iPad Pro’s are going to be getting this next version of the software as well, I also believe that the iPad Air 3, iPad Air 4, and the iPad Mini 5/ iPad Mini 6 will also be getting iPadOS 16 as well.
