Why You Should Factory Reset Your iPhone Every Year

Welcome back everyone, every single year Apple goes ahead and push out a new iOS version, whether it’s iOS 15, macOS versions, and even watchOS versions as well, but I personally do think that it’s probably the best idea to go ahead and factory reset your iPhone every single time you update your iPhone to a major OS update. Personally, if it’s a smaller update (like iOS 15.2 to 15.3) then it’s not a big deal, but if it’s a big OS update (like iOS 13, iOS 14, iOS 15) then it may make sense to factory reset your device. Now, I’m going to preface it by saying this: do not factory reset your device until you actually make a backup of your device, there are many ways to make a backup, but please backup everything from your iPhone before you even think about factory resetting it.

Now, the main reason why I would recommend installing a fresh version of software on your phone is mostly due to storage. For some reason, every time I install the latest version of software on my iPhone, I always run into random storage issues, I found when I reset my device, it actually ends up saving me a bit of storage every time, specifically in my “other”/”system” storage as well.
